CardioReady® and OnVantage Expand Partnership to Highlight Meeting Facilities with Certified Cardiac Emergency Readiness Programs

American Heart Association Provides CPR/AED Training and Educational Resources Facility Monitoring by Independent Certification Authority

PHILADELPHIA, PA - October 10, 2005 - CR Certification Corporation, ("CardioReady"), a leading information source for cardiac emergency readiness programs, has extended its partnership with OnVantage™, Inc., the leader in meeting supplier marketing and corporate spend management solutions for the $300 billion global market for professional meetings and events. The OnVantage Marketplace for Meetings™ will identify meeting facilities that meet cardiac emergency preparedness standards. The American Heart Association, a world renowned leader in emergency cardiovascular care and CPR training, will provide CPR/AED training, materials and resources in support of industry-wide education initiatives, including web sites, e-newsletters, and industry tradeshows.

Over 335,000 Americans die from sudden cardiac arrest (SCA) each year, which is more than lung cancer, colon cancer, breast cancer, homicide, and motor vehicle accidents combined. When SCA strikes, there is only a 3 to 6 minute window to deliver an electric shock via an automated external defibrillator (AED) to save a person's life. This is typically shorter than the timeframe for professional emergency response to arrive. CardioReady® certified facilities have thorough cardiac emergency programs with onsite AEDs and trained staff ready to protect guests, attendees, and employees from SCA.

"This is a great opportunity for the American Heart Association to further educate those in the hospitality industry. AED programs, when implemented as part of an overall emergency response plan, are scientifically proven to save more lives," said Robert Hickey, M.D., Chairman of the American Heart Association's Emergency Cardiovascular Care committee. "Facilities with well planned programs are providing employees and guests the ultimate service - being prepared to respond to life-threatening cardiac emergencies."

An important component of the life-saving program is the certification and monitoring of meeting facilities. CardioReady is the leader in creating standards for cardiac emergency readiness programs, and provider of independent monitoring and certification. The CardioReady® certification process incorporates the American Heart Association's AED program recommendations and includes an assessment of a property, the installation, implementation, and maintenance of AEDs, the training of onsite personnel using the AHA's Heartsaver AED curriculum or equivalent, and following accepted best practices in compliance with local and state regulations.

"The opportunity to work with OnVantage and the American Heart Association provides extensive education, promotion and implementation resources," observed Norman Norris, Chairman of CardioReady, "all of which will further assist the hospitality industry in successfully responding to SCA events."

CardioReady® certified facilities will be identified throughout the OnVantage Marketplace for Meetings, enabling meeting professionals to select facilities with cardiac life-saving programs. These programs offer protection similar to that which business travelers and meeting attendees have come to expect at their places of employment.

"CardioReady® certification is relatively inexpensive, and in many cases, the booking of a single meeting will more than cover the cost to a hotel," commented Edward J. Tromczynski, President of OnVantage, Inc. "The OnVantage Marketplace, the American Heart Association, and CardioReady will provide meeting professionals with the knowledge to procure 'CardioReady' facilities for their attendees."
